Stephens Jewellers is a family-based business established in Shepparton, Victoria in 1994 by Stephen and Michelle Schneider, who are still actively involved in the business. However, the roots of the business go back three generations. Michelle’s Grandfather Arthur Gerrard, a watch maker by trade, established Gerrard’s the Jewellers – one of Shepparton’s first jewellery stores – in 1951. Stephen & Michelle originally traded as Shepparton Showcase Jewellers, and have established the business as a destination in the Goulburn Valley over a period of 20 years. In 1997 they opened their second store at Shepparton Marketplace, a busy 7-day shopping destination. Stephen has travelled extensively internationally and participated in extensive technical training to build an in-depth knowledge of diamonds and precious stones. Stephens Jewellers now boasts an international network of global diamond merchants and jewellery designers enabling us to bring the world’s best jewellery design practice and competitive buying to our business.
